We've all heard the 'gurus' telling us that you do not need to own a product to succeed in Internet Marketing. All you have to do is to register with an affiliate company, get some affiliate products, get your hoplink, promote it and voila, you start generating loads of income, all on autopilot. This is called Affiliate Marketing.

Is it really so easy to make money on the Internet? Have you had any success so far?

Well, the truth is, Affiliate Marketing is only one aspect of Internet Marketing. You will earn your commission when you refer people to buy affiliate products and you may earn say, $20 for a successful referral (if they purchase the product).

However, it is not as easy as it seems. To succeed in Internet Marketing, there are many factors to consider. The most basic ingredients of Internet Marketing are you need to have:

1) Something to sell. It can be your own product or an affiliate product
2) Someone to sell to. You need to have 'target audience' to sell to

To achieve this, there are also many other factors to consider. You need to learn about how the Internet environment operates. You need to know what is 'search engine optimization', how an autoresponder works and more. You also need to know how to 'collect' or build a list of followers. You will then need to strategize your plans in keeping your followers so that they trust you and stay with you, and hopefully, buy what you sell or recommend. Without knowing these basics, you will never get to succeed in Internet Marketing.


So is Internet Marketing a Myth? Is it going to be tougher than it all seems?
